Publications is a new component of CSESoc, having only launched this year! Introduced with the intention of expanding out of just βeta (CSESoc’s fortnightly newsletter), Publications promises to present its members with exciting new opportunities to get involved in the CSE community and be a mouthpiece for one of the largest student run societies at uni.
βeta contains all the latest and greatest news about computing, CSE, UNSW and tech. It also covers all the happenings in CSESoc’s other teams and reports it all back to you in one neatly packaged newsletter. This year, writers will get a chance to have their very own column in βeta!
A quick list of some of the things you can find in βeta:
- Letters to the editor
- Images of the week
- Event listings
- Productivity tips and Lifehacks
- and of course, News!
Publications aims to expand out of just βeta this year, and in the near future we’re looking to expand into a lot of different media, specifically video content. We’re also looking to collaborate more with other departments of CSESoc, especially the Education portfolio.
Work in Publications mostly involves content writing, publishing/distribution and designing puzzles/programming challenges, with a future focus on expanding to different media and general content creation.
We’re constantly looking for people to expand our team and push new boundaries, so if any of this sounds interesting to you, or if you have some amazing ideas to help take Publications forward, send us a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org! Don’t fret if you’re extremely passionate about tech but are scared of writing, the Publications team is accentuating its focus towards learning and we’re here to help you grow and improve your writing skills. Even if you’re not sure how you could contribute, join us and we’ll work with you to figure out where you could fit in!
Don’t forget to login and subscribe to the mailing list to get your fortnightly dose of βeta!
